What are Chakras?
Chakras are your energy system, similar to any other system in your body and connected to them.
Your circulatory system circulates your blood & regulates your temperature. Digestion happens within your digestive system. Hormones in your being are regulated through your endocrine system. Life is created in your reproductive system.
Your energy system regulates the flow of energy throughout your being and fuels all of these other systems. This system is etheral rather than physical-the point in your being where your physical, spiritual, and emotional selves meet & interact.
The energy that fuels your being comes from three sources: yourself, your Higher Power, and Earth.
You have thousands of Chakras, moving energy like water throughout your being and powering your reality.
At the crown of your head is your Sarhasrara, or Crown Chakra. Energetically this is the point where you connect directly to your higher power. Whatever that means to you; God, dieties, Source, the Universe, your creator.
In meditation or prayer you may have felt this connection as you spoke with God and learned new information. This is called downloading.
Muladhara is located at the base of your spine; your Root Chakra. Here is where you connect directly to Earth. Our energy is similar to mushroom's mycelium, and may be directly connected to it.
As you ground into Earth you become connected with all life grounded into Earth.
As you plug into your higher power you become connected with all life open to this connection.
The key to your well being is keeping a healthy balance between the two energies. Allowing your energy to pass & exchange through your Chakras energy centers in a harmonious way.
Trauma causes the flow of energy to be disrupted and too much or not enough energy may begin to flow around specific energy centers or Chakras.
Your 7 major Chakras are directly connected to physical parts of your body, emotional, and spiritual parts of your life.
For example your feet are connected to your Muladhara or Root Chakra and your hands are connected to your Anahara or Heart Chakra.
Relationships are connected to your Anahata; Sexual Relationships are connected to your Svadisthana or Sacral Chakra.
Confidence is connected to your Manipura or Solar Plexus Chakra and Communication is connected to your Vishuddha or Throat Chakra.
Your well being can be traced back to trauma that is stored in one of your Chakras and disrupting your harmony. Your health depends on the harmony of your Chakras.
Energy expands upon what it is expirencing, whether or not that is in your best interest or not. Problems with your physical health affect your mental & spiritual health as well.
At the root of any dis ease is trauma being stored within your being. Understanding what traumas are stored in which of your chakras and how it may be affecting your physical, mental or spirtual health is the first step to healing.
Yoga is a path to healing, a practice you can learn and use to heal yourself. Yoga is much more than just a workout. Asanas are the physical poses that you move through in a standard western yoga class.
Breathwork has recently become really popular, but breathwork is yoga and it is called Pranayama. Mantras - chanting of sacred sounds in Sanskrit - is another yoga practice.
Meditation is Yoga. You can practice yoga through hand gestures called Mudras. Anything you do in your day with intention can become your yoga practice.
After enrolling in Heal your Chakras the course, my goal for you is to understand how your well being is affected by the harmony of your Chakras. I want you to have the tools and practices you need to heal yourself.
Trauma is a side effect of being a human being. It is all around us and very common to accumulate. The way other people treat you-even strangers-can be extremly traumatic. Watching horror stories on the news can stay with you. Expirencing anything unpleasant or hurtful is traumatic and will stay with you if you do not process it.
